The Dirty Clergy "Shake, Shake"

The Dirty Clergy is a garage rock / indie / throwback band that hails from Alabama. Their sound is reminiscent of the great 60's bands, yet also seems to be heavily influenced by some of the epic 90's acts like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and others. Their sound is exciting, uplifting, and yet still gritty.

Their song "Shake, Shake" is a great example of this. From a recording perspective, it feels like you are with the band - sitting in a rehearsal studio, watching them shred. The guitar solo at the chorus compliments the vocal melody in this way: while the vocal line sounds almost Mick Jagger-esque, the guitar line sounds like it could've been written in the early 1990's. THIS is the interesting thing about The Dirty Clergy - they really do sound like all the great bands from the 60's and the 90's mashed into one act.

I can honestly say I've never heard their particular sound. While I've heard bands that mix "sixties" elements into their music, I've never heard a band that combines modern styles with 90's AND 60's influences. This is a band you don't want to miss!
