A Compelling Journey Through Identity, Isolation, and Self-Discovery

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when an artist stops trying to fit into the noise of the modern music landscape and instead leans fully into their own truth. That’s exactly what BRYONY SIER accomplishes with “Platform 8,” a standout track from her forthcoming debut album Who Am I. The result is an emotionally rich folk-pop anthem that feels intimate enough for headphones at midnight, yet cinematic enough to echo through festival fields at sunset.
From the very beginning “Platform 8” immediately establishes a sense of space and reflection. A roomy drum groove drifts beneath a delicate acoustic guitar pattern, giving Bryony’s voice the perfect runway to arrive. And when it does, it immediately commands attention — not through overpowering theatrics, but through sincerity. BRYONY SIER's vocal tone carries a sweetness reminiscent of Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, while her phrasing and emotional nuance hold a whimsical unpredictability that recalls Tate McRae. Yet even with those comparisons, Bryony’s voice remains unmistakably her own.
The songwriting is where “Platform 8” truly shines. The opening line “I’m more of a tea lover” instantly paint vivid imagery, grounding the listener in the small personal details that make her storytelling feel lived-in rather than manufactured. When she references listening to a Dolly Parton song written with Kenny Rogers, the track suddenly feels timeless — connected to the lineage of great storytellers who understood that vulnerability is often found in the smallest moments.
Then comes the chorus, and the song blossoms. “Just another teenage runaway, broken down like a pulling train on Platform 8” lands with startling emotional weight, elevated by soaring harmonies that feel both haunting and liberating. It’s the kind of chorus that sticks not simply because it’s catchy, but because it carries emotional scars within it. BRYONY SIER captures the confusion of identity and the ache of growing into yourself with remarkable honesty.
The second verse deepens the emotional gravity even further:“I am an introvert, I can be extroverted, depends on who I’m with… I have lost my whole identity.”
It’s an arrestingly human moment, particularly within a world increasingly shaped by social media performance and external validation. BRYONY SIER doesn’t just write about insecurity — she dissects it with poetic precision. Her perspective as a neurodiverse songwriter gives the track an added layer of authenticity, making the themes of misunderstanding and self-discovery resonate even more powerfully.
