MUSIC FARMER 5 - Review by Adam Jones
A Fiery Beacon of Hope, Born from Despair

Austin-based duo Bridges Ablaze fans the flames of their alt-rock success with their latest single, Forever Fallen. This much-anticipated release masterfully combines elements of emo and heavy rock with soaring vocals and potent dynamics that create a sense of fantastical drama.
"Forever Fallen" commences with an intimate guitar hook, quickly intertwined with a soulful vocal line that draws you in close. The introduction quickly gives way to thunderous mix of roaring guitars and bombastic drums, creating a sensation that's akin to riding a wild storm. Bridges Ablaze has mastered the art of contrasting intimacy with intensity, lulling the listener into a sense of comfort before hitting them with the full force of their raw energy.
This powerhouse duo, composed of Brien Allen and Ruben Zamora, exhibit their impressive range of influences within this song, seamlessly blending elements from death metal to jazz and beyond. This sonic diversity, paired with their steadfast refusal to be pigeonholed, infuses their music with a unique and anthemic quality. They have a penchant for taking risks, a trait clearly demonstrated in their high-octane debut single, "Hellbent," and their riveting cover of 30 Seconds To Mars' "The Kill." It's clear that with "Forever Fallen," Bridges Ablaze is indeed hellbent on maintaining their signature audaciousness.
The lyrics of "Forever Fallen" plunge into the depths of despair, isolation, and desolation. With verses like "I’ve fallen to pieces - Without any real reason - To keep on surviving" and choruses repeating the heartrending phrase "Forever fallen and broken hearted," the band bravely explores the struggles that we, as humans, often grapple with in silence. It's a dark, but deeply relatable portrait of inner turmoil that encourages the listener to reflect on their own journeys and struggles.
However, amidst the echo of pain, "Forever Fallen" is also a profound exploration of the transformative potential of suffering. It's a passionate reminder that our deepest wounds can evolve into our most potent strengths, subtly conveyed through an electrifying guitar solo that illuminates the darkness like a beacon. The climax of this track serves as an affirmation that no matter how far we may fall, there is always an opportunity to rise again; stronger and more resilient.
