MUSIC FARMER 5 - Review by Adam Jones
Beyond the Blaze: Igniting a New Rock Revolution
Today I had yet another opportunity to review the amazing BIG SEXY and experience the smoldering embrace of their fiery single, "Burning", off the album "River of Shame." You might recall the hypnotic cadence of this band with rock odysseys such as "Raw Masculinity" and "New Mexico Nights" - well now they're back, and "BURNING" brighter than ever!
"Burning" begins with an arresting guitar riff that feels like the first spark of a flame, accompanied by drums that pound with the heartbeat of anticipation. The song masterfully interweaves the timeless aura of classic rock legends like The Eagles with the edgy dynamism of modern rock virtuosos such as Jack White and The Black Keys. Yet it also carries a unique raw intensity that makes it undeniably BIG SEXY.
Gary Maccagnone's vocals rise and swirl, reminiscent of a majestic eagle embarking on a sunlit flight, while the electrifying storms of Alex Goroshkoâs guitar envelop it, creating a celestial dance of epic proportions. In this symphony, one finds reflections of Paul Simon's poetic tones coupled with the emotional depth of Sting. The song feels like a living painting, evoking powerful images and emotions throughout the soundscape.
What adds a layer of depth to "Burning" is its narrative â a soulful tale of a man torn between love and the haunting realization that he must depart from its fiery embrace to find sanctuary. This song doesn't just play; it narrates, it weeps, it soars.
Its cinematic brilliance is palpable. One can easily envision it breathing life into an epic silver screen moment â a heart-racing chase, a climactic duel, or the poignant departure of a hero.
