And we're back with New York artist Chancius, an artist whom describes his music as "indie dream pop." Chancius just released an album titled "Bando."
Chancius' music sounds like a throwback to the 80's & the vocals like Jim Morrison, while also merging some of the beach-goth vibes of bands like Waaves and Beach Cities. I think some songs that best showcase these elements are "Making It Up As We Go Along" and "Big Wave," which also carry infectious beats.
From a production standpoint, the elements that define Chancius' sound on "Bando" are his uses of his unique analog delay on clean guitar riffs and his layered unison vocals.
Chancius has a truly unique sound.

The second, groundbreaking release from Brooklyn based musician Chancius, 'Bando' is an indie rock/dream pop, concept album with a sci-fi twist. Envisioned as an alternative rock opera, the album tells the story of Bando, a young man afflicted with a life-threatening disease. In an attempt to save himself, he volunteers for an experimental procedure. As his story unfolds, the ramifications of blending humanity with technology are brought to life in sound.
